ok, so my g/f the illustration major who has a mac and is all up on it has to take an html class so she can make her own website for illustration. Anywho, she has mac osx (dont know what version, but not tiger...id have to check if this is really important). And she has her powerbook and all. She seems to be having trouble connecting to her schools ftp server to upload her content with whatever program is built in with mac osx, but i do it just fine with winxp and wsftp. Or any other ftp program for that matter. Secondly, what are some good and FREE html editing programs for MAC.....or rather text editors. So basically im looking for recomendations for a text editor and an ftp program for MAC that work nicely.
Thanks!

The Finder always seemed tto have issues with FTP. Not sure of a good alternative though.

I use mi to do javascript and html at work so I would recommend that. It's free

ok, ill tell her to give those a try...any others?
How about some for purchase that are really good?.....seeing as how she will be doing this for as long as she needs a website for illustration (like 30 yrs or so..heh)

FTP:
For a free program I used fetch which worked really well. For a pay for one I use Transmit, you can't beat it.

HTML:
As said, BBEdit is good, but if all you are looking for is a text editor then anything will work (use whatever she is most comfortable in). If she wants more of a GUI that you can still edit code in I have REALLY liked Dreamweaver but its not free, nor is it cheap.
