My WRT54G router has any option for MAC Adress Clone and was wondering what exactly would this do if I enabled it?

There is a MAC address box that says User Defined Entry:.

Thanks for any info.

I'm fairly sure it's for if your isp has a mac address "lock" which means it will only allow connection to a certain mac address. If you enable it, you would be able to change the mac address to that address.

MAC address clone is used so that your ISP sees the MAC address of your primary computer rather than the MAC of your router. Some times ISP's give you trouble if you are trying to connect through a Router. I would try it without clone and if you have connection issues then I would then turn it on.
