One of my friends wants me to build a M-ITX system for him.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Light gaming, light photoshop/after effects work, heavy web browsing, also used as an HTPC

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
~$750, very flexible

3) Where do you live?
Columbus, Ohio (near a Microcenter)

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
Everything (no monitor needed), except whats listed below

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
HD5750- This is what he has... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161309&cm_re=hd5750-_-14-161-309-_-Product
USB BDROM/DVDRW, USB/eSATA HDD
Keyboard, Mouse

6) Will you be overclocking?
No.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
22" 1080p LCD, and 1080p projector

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
eSATA, SPDIF, M-ITX form factor, 1x PCI-E x16, ability for 4GB of RAM (don't need any more), would like a 1156 based setup if possible

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
Windows 7 x64 Home Premium

Here's what I've come up with so far...
Case: LIAN LI PC-Q07- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112227 ($75)
PSU: CORSAIR 400CX- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008&Tpk=400cx ($50)
CPU: Core i5 750 at Microcenter ($175 after tax)
MITX Mobo: DFI LANParty MI P55-T36- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136073&Tpk=itx 1156 ($140)
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161309&cm_re=hd5750-_-14-161-309-_-Product ($0- already have it)
RAM: Corsair XMS3- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145260&cm_re=ddr3-_-20-145-260-_-Product ($95)
HDD: WD 640GB Blue- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218&cm_re=wd_640-_-22-136-218-_-Product ($70)
ODD: (none)
Sound: EMU 0202 (~$100)
Keyboard/Mouse: Has a set already.

Total is about $700 I think.

As usual, rip it apart... :p

More a question than a suggestion . . . but would heat be a concern running such a powerful platform with no case cooling?

You're going to suffocate the i5 in that case.

Lian-Li designed that model with Ion/Atom setups in mind.

I was thinking that might be the case. And if that is the case, then maybe this could be the case:

Silverstone SG-06

Of course, now you run into the PSU problem, because for some odd reason that Lian Li case supports bad mofo PSU's and the SG-06 doesn't. Unless some of the SFF guys have figured out how to run graphics with that PSU (or swap it out), you might have hit a wall, here. :(

The 300W 80 Plus in the SUGO will run the i5 with the 5750 with room to spare. Hell, you could comfortably move up to an HD 5770 without much to worry about. Personally, I'd trust it with as much as an HD 5850 with the i5, but I'm insane and risk-seeking.

The only problem/question will be headroom for the future.

I don't like the PSU config in the SUGO though. Is there anything with a good PSU Area like the Lian Li?

Could I use the Lian Li if I got a PSU like this with a 120mm exhaust fan?

It's not that it's not gonna work, it's just that you're going to have bad airflow and temp problems basically guaranteed with the Lian-Li unless you get very creative with modding and/or aftermarket cooling solutions.
