Haven't seen anyone comment about this new card yet. It's supposedly a cheaper and more gamer oriented version of the Revolution 7.1. I'm wondering if this will be a good upgrade for me since I've been thinking of ugprading my sound card recently. It's available on newegg right now for about $74, which is cheaper than the Audigy2, but it's still unkown how much better the gaming performance is so I'm still waiting for more info.
 
The Revolution 5.1 uses the new VIA Envy24GT controller, which doesn't improve gaming performance whatsoever but streamlines the process of bit-perfect playback over S/PDIF. What this means to gamers is that current and forthcoming games that feature Dolby Digital technologies will be able to painlessly pass these streams over S/PDIF optical or coaxial lines.
