I haven't heard much about this card. Is it any good? I'm only going to need it for music listening and a little bit of gaming but I don't really need all those features that X-Fi and what not has for gaming. (And I'm not going to be buying it new for $80.. Getting it used for much cheaper)

Oh and how are the drivers for Vista (64)?

There are no M-Audio sound card drivers for Vista. They simply don't exist.

That said, I have this card, and I think it's very easy to work with and the drivers for it (even though they date back to 2004), are fine for what I do. Some people really just like the upgrade bug and want to see a newer revision date for no reason (whereas others do actually have legitimate problems). The sound quality, in my opinion, is quite good, although admittedly, my setup is still more of a beginner setup and I haven't had the chance to compare many sources, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you intend to use this card for music via analog (with both headphones and speakers plugged in) or digital coaxial, you should be quite satisfied. It is a fine card with a small footprint.

Hmm... that's pretty lame... Guess I'll have to look elsewhere. Thanks though. (and I'm 100x more beginner then you concering audio set-ups :) )

Does anyone have any suggestions for about $50 (or about $80 new)? Right now I don't really have any audio stuff at all. I have some crappy 2.1 Logitechs and a decent pair of earphones (V-Moda Vibes. I just bought them for my Zune and sort of regret it now.. Should've just gotten some real headphones). I am planning on buying a cheap receiver and spending about $80-100 on a pair of speakers in a little while though. Some suggestions for that would be nice too :).
