M-Audio AV40s, $79, B&H

that is a decent price for them. they have been sold for $99 in the past.
My brother and I bought a set for my dad a few years ago for his birthday and they are still running strong,
We paid $150 since they weren't on sale.
 
Yeah my only complaint with the AV42s that I have is that the bass is a little on the weak side, so looking into putting a subwoofer into the mix as well. Other than that they are very nice speakers, especially at that price point.
 
M-Audio makes a nice sub, but it's a little pricey, a tad over $400.
I bought the M-Audio BX5's a few months ago for my new machine, was looking at a set of AV40's but Sam Ash had the BX5's for $75ea, so I bought a pair of those instead.
I have been very pleased with them, they sound very good, just not as good as my Alesis M1 Active MK2's but you can't beat them for for the price.
 
Yeah, not going to buy something as nice as a $400 sub. Just going to pick up a Polk PSW10 when it gets down around the $100 price point again. If I could have gotten BX5s for $75 a pop I would have been ecstatic :) sounds like a great deal.
