I've got a new workstation coming and for sound I've ordered this card based soley from info I got from 2CPU.com (the workstation is dual Xeons).

My last workstation has dual P3s and I had nothing but problems from both Creative and Hercules - mainly skipping audio (from the sound card's interrupts being distributed to two seperate CPUs).

So, I'm wondering now (after the fact) if any [H] users have experiences with this card
 
LOL! After 90 views and a dump to page 2, I guess the answer is "no"?
 
I've only heard good things about it, and I had heard it mentioned that plays nice with duallie systems but no personal experience.
No 6 channel analog output of course, but you knew that.

So, NO! ;)
 
I'm just curious what you saw in the Audiophile 2496 that you didn't see in the new and slightly better Revolution 7.1...? Was it the board-mounted RCA connectors?
 
See here I am getting confused again...... how is the Revolution better then the Audiophille?
Please don't even tell me that....that, Cliff I get a kickback from every revo sold Wats-on guy said so......
 
I thought that was the general sentiment at AVS?

I will admit that I haven't heard the Audiophile 2496, but the Revolution 7.1 has a features advantage, and since Cliff was instrumental in the Revo's development, I would assume it got some good treatment.

Sorry, that's why I was asking.

I was just hoping you had some type of USEFULL information to base that assumption on. :)
 
It's cheaper, it supports 192KHz sampling rate playback and it has 7.1 analog output. So that's better in a way I guess.

The only "feature" I desire is to work agreeably in a dual cpu system.

You should've gotten the FireWire based version...lol

You could always get the RME PAD and do the mod and be living-the-life Uhh...mod
