I lucked out and have acces to money. MY plans are to either by a maxxed out dual NOCONA Xeon system or to try my hand a ta prometia. Ive pretty much decided on getting the nocona eons but the prometia still intrigues me. he xeons themselves are going to actually be better for gaming than a p4c ( same nus speed and higher clock with 64 bit) so what would you choose

Get the dualies dude, but be prepared to never go back to a single CPU system. Out of curiousity, wherefrom did you get that kind of cash (drug dealer ;) ?)

how come nobody uses dual proccessors for gaming? wouldn't they be ultra fast?

Because 99% of games out there dont support multithreading...

for the price of the xeons and dual xeon board, I doubt you could beat a tricked out 3.2c overclocked like mad.

Most xeon boards esp. dual boards dont overclock.

but that was before Nocona xeons come out. i plan to get those. I got the money from a series of presents which were delayed + savings+my uncle said he would pay for the rest. lol those nocona are gonna cost around 1k a peice as hat is the price of the current xeon bleeding edge. does anyone else see the potential of these chips? They have better specs then even the a64fx p,lus you can use two of them.

Wouldn't it be more correct to compare the Xeons to the Opterons, since they're the server/workstation chips from the AMD side?

The FX-51 is the counterpart of the P4EEs.

Tell us how those Nocona xeons work for gaming, but don't expect super duper double the performance, because a lot of games don't utilize dual proccies.
