Just posting this in case someone googles the subject for info one day.
I got a LSI00244 (9201-16i)
Seems to be working perfectly under ESXi 5.5 in passthrough mode to a Win2k12 VM.
Worked out the box for me with no fuss. I'm still doing some testing with it, but it looks like it will be a painless transition for me.
BIOS: 07.33.00.00.00_07.24.01.00
Firmware: 20.00.00.00
