LSI caching seperate controller

Hello,

I had a question,

I found 2x9361-4i RAID cards in our inventory and wanted to mess around with the cards for a project.

I wanted to have 4x1TB drives on the first raid card, and 2x240GB SSD drives as cachecade caching drives on the 2nd card.

Is it possible to run 2 controllers & have caching drives on separate controller for these LSI cards? If so, how would it work?

Thank you

why not have 1 drive on each controllers and 2 x 1TB on each?

then you have cache on each controller vs going through the PCIe bus to get cache....

Because then he won't be able to do RAID 5, 6, 10 (if that's what he wants to do).
And to the original question: No, you can't cache from a separate controller.

Caching with OS or with other software is another story, but then why use HW RAID cards if you want to do that.
