LP2480ZX profiling problem on Vista 64

I just got the HP advanced profiling solution for this monitor, but it turns out the icc v4 profile it creates will not work correctly on Vista's WCS. When I assigned the resulting profile as my windows default profile , I found that images (sRGB tagged) viewed on vista photo gallery will look like gamma over-corrected.(sort of blown out or losing highlight details) If I choose the original profile "HP LP2480zx Full Color Preset.icm", everything works fine. Same thing happens on photoshop CS4 with color engine changed to windows WCS + perceptrual rendering intent. (Strangely, with relative colorimetic setting, it does not have this problem!) I am suspecting the vista wcs will not work correctly with the HP APS profile when the rendering intent is set to perceptual. (Vista photo gallery use wcs + perceptual rendering intent also!) Is there anyone have this problem? Or, is there any solution? Thanks.

PS. the ACDSee 2.5 pro also use wcs, and has same result.

Problem solved. The APS software 1.02 is buggy in many ways. It sometimes failed to detect the monitor on Vista 64. It produces erroneous ICC profiles which is my case. The color temperature it calibrates is not correct either, the reading is a bit below actual WB, so produces an overall bluish tint on the white. If you have the APS, you need to upgrade to 1.1 version immediately. This thing only works until 2010/2/2 !!!

How have you remeasured the whitepoint? HP implements corrections for the sprectrum of the screen in the OEM EOD2 or their software (can't tell you exactly because the probe is limited to their software). If you are measuring outside the software with a colorimeter you will get wrong readings (usually to low concerning the CCT) if you are not using a spectrophotometer (also critical because of the sampling intervall but we had quite good experiences with the EyeOne Pro).

edit: OK - think that I have misread your posting. So you get different readings when using different versions of APS? I don't know which version of the software we had tested for our review but it was used under Windows XP. Readings were quite consistent comparing to the EyeOne Pro as reference.

Best regards
