Low to midrange video card?

I recently acquired a secondhand HP a6130n pc, Athlon 64 X2 (B) 5000+ 2.6 GHz, 3gb ram, and a free pci-express 16x slot, but it only has integrated graphics. I wanted to get it ready for my wife to play some games... nothing too intensive, maybe like Dota2, so I'm looking for a budget graphics card, maybe around $100-150.

I read some things about the HD7770. But I haven't bought a new graphics card in 7+ years so I really have no idea what to look for. Any ideas for something that might be better? Thanks in advance!

Don't bother with anything more than an HD 7750. Even that's going to be quite bottlenecked.

If you can find a 6870 on the "for sale" forum, you will be good to go for around $100 shipped. Both of my sons play with these cards and they play at 1920x1080 with zero problems.

Thanks for the comments. I was hoping to avoid bottleneck. I have no idea what this computer is/isn't capable of.... Would something along the lines of a GTX 550 Ti or GTX 650 be a little more appropriate? There isn't really a reason for me to get a card that's going to be bottlenecked because I don't plan on upgrading anything else on the comp.

A $150 GPU is overkill

The 7750 would be a great choice (for $90)

I'd first look at what resolution you'd be playing. A lower res. like 1680 x 1080 would be served well by a 7750--$85-$100 current price range on Newegg, AR.

Playing at a higher res. would be more comfortable with a 7770---$100-$120 current price range on Newegg, AR.

you'll probably need a new PSU with 6-pin pci-express power plugs..7750 should be good.
