low score in benchmark? help please

I just bought a BFG GeForce FX 5500 OC 256mb DDR AGP 8X and my score with 3D mark2001 is only 7600 range. With my old video card (TI4200 128MB AGP 4X) I was getting scores in the 11,000 range. Anyone know what my be causeing this? I have double checked the bios and made sure the 8X option is selected.

I have also installed Aquamark3 and ran option 1 with the FX 5500 card and scored 10810 (http://arc.aquamark3.com/arc/arc_view.php?run=1149921026) I havent ran the TI4200 yet with AquaMark3 but im gonna swap cards again and try it. BTW I was useing the latest drivers from nvidia with both cards. Any help would be great.

I am not sure about this but geforce FX 5600 is slower then a ti 4200 at PS 1.4 and a geforce fx 5500 is slower then a fx 5600..

You should have checked more about the card before buying...
 
I would score 10k with my 5600 256mb. It was a decent card but not 9800pro!
