need a low-profile video card for my lan-pc, ive looked for the best cards from both ATi and NVidia

so i need to choose between one of the many GeForce FX 5200 low-profile cards

or a Radeon 9600SE

the 5200 is cheaper, but from everything ive heard about the 5200 its like complete crap, but realisticly, which one of these would be my better option?

its going to be for mostly cs, bf1942 and halo etc

CS runs fine on a geforce4 mx. I got 50 fps fine with that POS card. Battlefield on the other hand will run pretty decently on a 9600 as long as you stay away from the 64 person servers. (cough cough BF1942 netcode can lick my anus) and....

as for HALO....THATS THE WORSE CODED GAME EVER. I think its complete crap for PC. I have a 2.2ghz cpu + 9800 pro, the game doesnt have good graphics, and it runs a million times worse then any other game i have. Every other game out there i can turn up settings all the way and get AT LEAST 40 fps, most of the time 60 and on such games as CS or any other HL Mod, i can get 199 fps all the time.

Can we say for Halo, "Nvidia, the way its meant to be played"? I THINK SO

Id say go with a 9600 Pro or even an XT for around 175 bucks. I think youd be happier then with the SE....i dont know a whole lot about the performance of a 5200 but im rather partial towards ATI.

They don't make low profile card of those, the highest low profile I've seen is a 9600np. Why do you need a low profile card, if I may ask? Do you have a link to the case?

A company call HIS (what ever it stands for) made a 9600se (64 bit mem) 128 ddr 8x agp low pro card i saw the pcb being red color and they have the platinum version ( i think the only difference is the platinum has and fan and heat sink rather than the non-plantium only having heatsink) I heard it keeps up to the fx 5600 ( its abt half the size of any geforce 4 ti series) and its cheap!:)
