Looking for low profile ITX CPU cooler for Intel ivy bridge platform.

What you recommend?

How low-profile are you looking? What case do you need to fit this in?

I'm using a Noctua NH-L9i on my latest SFF build, but it significantly limits overclocking due to its small heat transfer capacity.

I used this for a short time. It's shorter than the stock heat sink but cooled almost exactly the same in my experience.

Really? I'm getting temps about 30C (NH-L9i: 60C; Stock: 89C) less than the stock HSF with an 8-thread prime95 blend going!

(edited to add: the temp peaked at 65C, but once the fan spooled up it dropped back down)

Love my NH-L9i. Performs fabulously. Having heavily researched it I don't think there is good competitor.

I like the AXP-100 (cooled the same system down about 10C more), but it is also about 10-15mm taller (depending on what fan you use) than the NH-L9i... of course, then, if you've got 100mm of height to play with, there is always the AXP-140 :D (if you can find one)

Just a quick comparison. All heights are fanless.

23mm Noctua L9i/a -mfg advises against >65w TDP
44mm ThermalTake AXP100
45mm Prolimatech Samuel 17
82mm SilverStone NT06-Pro -supports push/pull fan config w/ undermount fan

46mm Sythe Big Shruiken 2 Rev B
45mm Xigmatek Janus (push/pull)
40mm Gamer Storm Gabriel
66mm Noctua NH-L12 (push/pull)

What about noise levels? Just as loud as a stock Intel or what?

All of them should be more quiet than the Intel stock hsf.

I love my scythe big shuriken 2. I run it passive. No noise.

that really depends on what motherboard you are using ... not all coolers will fit on each motherboard

Recommendation depends on the motherboard, as the CPU socket is placed differently for each of them:

Next question would be what case/surrounding this socket/cooler faces as this might influence airflow/choice of fans.
