1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Mostly web browsing and watching HD videos on websites like youtube or hulu. Looking to play Starcraft 2 but this computer does not need to be able to run every setting at max.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
At most 600$ but anywhere in the 400-600$ range would be nice. That budget needs to include shipping as well as tax which I believe is 4% here in Georgia. I am not entirely sure though since I have only lived here for a month.
3) Where do you live?
Macon, GA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Video Card, Hard Drive, Case, PSU, Keyboard & Mouse (Preferably wireless), Monitor (Preferably 24" or whatever we can squeeze, obviously the bigger the better), DVD Drive (does not need to have burning capabilities if the price jump is large)
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Not reusing any parts.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
Would prefer to get a 24" at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (but it seems the 1920x1200 monitors are no longer being produced - I am out of the loop so I am not sure). If the budget is too low for that then I think a 20" will do fine.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I would like to buy everything this Saturday but if majority think I should wait a bit longer to get a better discount I defiantly will.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
Nothing fancy at all. Just your average computer. He is really just going to be browsing the internet, watching videos and maybe playing starcraft 2. I wouldnt suggest a video card over 100$ tbh.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes - Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
So far I am thinking an AMD cpu with an ATI card for obvious performance/price but I am open to anything. Since it is november and newegg has started their deals I would imagine it is a good time to do this. This computer is not for me but for a friend, and I am just building it for him. Thanks for the help!
