Hey all. I'll be assembling my first system soon (2500+, possibly a Mobile version) and need some recommendations on purchasing some quality low latency memory for it. Now I don't want it to seem like I just want to hang back and let you guys do all of the legwork, but I've read through about a zillion forums and dozens of reviews (though mostly for a Intel-based system, but processor prices haven't dropped as I hoped they would, so I switched camps), and the more I read, the more my opinion just gets swayed in another direction. What I keep seeing is high praise for the Winbond BH-5 chips, and their exclusivity. Are the much vaunted Mushkin PC3500 Level 2 Black's and their ilk all they're cracked up to be? The reason I ask is I have a line on a pair 512's - but they'll cost me. Are there any other preferred sticks that I should look into such as those Mushkin "222 Special's", or should I just bite the bullet and grab them? Though I've mentioned Mushkin twice, I'm looking for recommendations that would fit the bill, regardless of brand. Thanks in advance.

how much money is the mushkin level 2. because if you could get a pair of pc3500 mushkin lvl2 for like $250 definately grab it. i wouldnt pay the suggested retail for them though.

just buy a pair of pc3700 kingston hyperX. you can get them for $115 a stick on newegg
