My video card was idling at 68°C and I decided it dust it out. I took it out of the MOBO, did a little air dusting and viola! Idle temps down to 50°C, which is about what it was when I purchased it. I ran FurMark and my FPS have dropped to about 6 fps @ 640x480 with no options checked, just straight burn-in test. I used to see close to 22-25 fps. 3DMark06 sees a drop in fps, as well as in gaming. Clocks are set to default. I uninstalled then reinstalled drivers, but no improvement.

Any suggestions as to what is up and how to remedy the problem? Thanks in advance.

If it has one, you did plug the PCIe power back in, right?

Understand that somtimes newer versions of this programs (furmark) are more demanding than before.

Be sure you are comparing apples to apples (ie same version)

Make sure you didn't put it in a weird 2x / 4x etc slot.
