low brightness from Samsung

Samsung new monitor's brightness is only 250 while NEC's monitor is 400, how come samsung can be as bright as NEC? (ppl said in the review that samsung is bright)
I checked futureshop said that brightness should be maintain at minimum 200.......then

Samsung contrast ratio = 1000
NEC contrast ratio = 700

so........anyone know why?

The Samsung 910T that I just got rid of was too bright...way too bright.
 
It's because manufacturer rated specifications are bullshit because there is no standard (or little standard) by which they are measured...
