Heres the story. My idiodic brother decided to have our wireless network passworded to prevent other people from using it. He somehow entered a password and when it asked for him to save the encrypted password he declined. He thought that the password he entered would be the same for using when you want to connect to our wireless network. Now we have a security enabled network with a password that he doesnt know. We called up NetGear but those guys are of no help. Anyway to retrieve this password?

There's a LOT of WEP password cracking softwares on the net. Google "crack wep" and you'll find a lot of linux utilities to do it.
Otherwise, just hold the reset button down while plugging in the router and keep the reset button depressed for elike 1 minute and it should reset the router to factory settings

here's a slick idea...hard reset the router and set it up again.

Shouldnt be hard at all.

did he change the login password for http://192.168.0.1 ?
if not just go in and change the settings.

And write down the password on a length of tape in sharpie and stick it to the router.
