I recently updated my Nforce audio drivers. my setup was using the digital coax connection on the back of my A7N8X Delux to my Kenwood receiver. This was sounding great, I was using the lated drivers from the Asus website (which haven't and probably won't be updated for a long time, if ever).

When I first set this up I could only get a few of the speakers to play (I have a 5.1 setup with the receiver which is a VR-407) On the front of the receiver are these lights which correspond with what mode the receiver is in such as prologic, stereo, Dolby Digital. Well anyway I clicked a check box in the nvidia controll panel when I got this setup called dolby digital encoding. Intantly the light went over from prologic (which sounds absolutely terrible on this receiver) to the Dolby Digital, and it sounded awesome. However lately I've had problems in games so I updated my driver with the latest from nvidia's site and now the sound in games is a lot more stable, and the games that support surround sound it goes to the right speakers and sounds good. However, when I'm at the desktop and fire up some music it plays in stereo even though the Dolby light on the receiver is still on. I know this is because my audio souce is only in stereo, but it used to kick it out to all the speakers... It didnt bother me at first cause my games worked, but now it drives me nuts cause Im not getting all my sound... What in the world should I do? Thanks for reading my ridiculously long post explaining my simple problem. I would really appreciate any input you all can give me.
