Kinda pissed about this, as this box is not overclocked at all.

Anyways, I think the ram in that box might be a little bit shady, so I am going to swap it with the ram in my other 1366 system.

I guess as a plus my 3930K system picked up another 6900.
 
It most likely means your OC is not quite folding stable yet. The best thing to do is save a backup copy of the folding folder and disconnect from the internet until you are sure it is folding stable.

As far as literally what does mdrun returned 255 mean I have no idea just that it is usually associated with an unstable OC but can also be a bad WU which is unlikely but possible.

system wasn't overclocked :D first line in the post, lol.

yeah i'd probably say its the memory. the mdrun returned 255 error is just a generic error code for the WU finishing early or early_unit_error. same things just different codes responses.
 
Yeah I have a set of those sexi 30nm samsung rams that overclock like mad running at 1600 8-8-8-22-1T on the i7 920, so I'm gonna swap that ram over.

This box has been running fully stable for several weeks now, plus it not being overclocked at the moment makes it rather annoying.

The room it's in is pretty hot though, but I don't care, I run right up to TJMax :D
 
HAH, that ram was some junk!

So, if anyone remembers I wrestled this box for HOURS trying to get it to overclock, and could not get it to budge! It was that shitty OCZ ram I had in there. That samsung 30nm ram is REALLY awesome stuff. I think I'm going to buy another set to replace that junky OCZ crap that's now in the i7 920 box. I did get that box to roll at 200x20, but I had to set the ram to 1600 cas 10-10-10-26. Frame times on it seem comparable to before so I'm going to let it be.

Now this beaud posts up at 4.4Ghz no problem! 3.33->4.4 on 6-cores is going to be a pretty dang healthy bump!
