I did a 3DMark03 run after building my new system and got it up to 6000+ points. Now, for some reason, I can only get around 5300. WTF? What in the world changed I wonder? I can't figure it out.

Heck, my CPU score went up by 200+ points. My GT1 score went up by 25 points but, my GT2 score went down by 6 points, GT3 went down by 3 points and my GT4 (nature) went down by 13 points.

CPU test went up by 26 and 3 FPS.Fill rate is pretty much the same, Vertex went down by 5 and sound test went up.

I just don't understand what I did to loose 700 3Dmark03 points. If I lost 700 3Dmark01 points, it wouldn't be so bad but 700 03 points? OUCH.

oh no the world is coming to an end. 3dmark doesnt do you any good. Dont worry about it unless the performance in games drops.

I only use 3dmark to see what changes have an effect. I did see some difference in my games, that's just it.

I had this issue when I first got my 5900NU and OCed it too far. What happens is that the clocks that you set get confused, so it stays on the core default for 2d, which, in my case, was 300Mhz. Or, you may have pushed the core too far, which would have the same result.

You could use Rivatuner, as it has core/mem clock monitoring. You could see what the core/mem speeds are in 3d with your OC to see if it is indeed doing what I just said.

Redetecting/resetting the clocks worked for me, as well as lowering the core/mem clock to a setting that the vid card could handle.

Hope this helps.

700? pfft, I lost 1100.

I overclocked my Ti4200 to 300/530 (250/450 stock) and i lost 1100 points in 3Dmark2003, but gained 1200 in 3DMark 2001SE.

??????????

D'OH!!

Just figured out my problem.

6000+ figures were before I upgraded to the 340 3DMark2003 patch.
