Losing KB and mouse controls randomly?

From time to time, the mouse and keyboard seem to freeze up, and I have to shut down for a minute to get them back, restarting does not work to fix it. Any ideas why this happens?

System in sig, clock speed innaccurate though, I turned it down to 2.1 gig.
