I see in the OC database that "lopri" managed to get 3600 with his/her system.
I have the exact same system, same CPU/stepping/week/cooler/RAM - everything.
The only difference between our systems is that you are on BIOS 0801 and I'm using 1101.
However, I can't get an OC over 3000 that's solid.
If you're out there lopri, what are all your settings in BIOS?
I'm sure some other Asus-Conroe types would like to know too.
Thanks!

Edit the title of the thread quickly so he knows you are looking for lopri and lopry.
I would send him a PM if he does not answer by this afternoon.

Thanks! Calling someone by their actual name to get their attention is probably a good idea.
Sorry Lopri!

Here. :) Please note this was with BIOS 0801. Since then I've moved to E6700 and BIOS 1101. (Sold the E6600)

The set Vcore in the BIOS was 1.575V, not 1.475V. Not sure why it's recorded as 1.475V? Interesting because that's where I run my E6700 for 3.6GHz.

Edit: Actually the high Vcore required for 3.6GHz (the frequency I originally hoped for with the E6600) is why I switched to E6700. The E6700 does 3.6GHz @1.475V, and 3.8GHz @1.575V. For anyone interested, here is the BIOS (1101) settings for E6700 @10x360.

It was quite easier to achieve 3.6GHz with the E6700. I indeed started to believe that Intel actually bins E6700s from E6600s.

Edit 2: I found my post in OC database thread and it was my mistake to have put down the Vcore as 1.475. It's corrected now and I apologize for the mistake. Actually @1.475V the E6600 didn't even boot. :D So again, the selected Vcore in the BIOS 0801 was 1.575V, and under load it used to drop to 1.54~1.55V. (read via Everest)

Thanks a million!
I guess I've been too squeamish with my over-voltages.
Time to start dialing things up and see if some smoke comes out.

lopri, do you by chance remember what VCore it was taking you to get 3.2GHz? 3.4GHz? (with the E6600)

Not 3.2GHz, but when I get a CPU the first thing I do is how high it clocks with stock/auto Vcore. My chips did/does the following:

E6600
Stock Vcore: 3.1GHz
1.575V: 3.6GHz

E6700
Stock Vcore: 3.25GHz
1.475V: 3.6GHz
1.575V~1.6V: 3.8GHz

I 'refuse' to run these chips at or over 1.5V actual (which will result in 65C+ temp readings in CoreTemp) so that's why I decided on E6700 at extra cost. At 1.475V set in BIOS, my temps borders on 64~66C by CoreTemp. ASUS Probe usually reports 52~53C. These temps are of course max load. (Dual LargeFFT) Funny thing is the BIOS says the CPU temp (idle, obviously) is 20~24C most of the time.

I should also probably mention that the OC became somewhat unstable using a 7950GX2 compared with a 6200TC.
