I'm on my third rebuild of my WC setup, mostly rebuilding it due to the inability to bleed the system properly. Since there was air I could not get out, it got annoying to hear the gurgling of the system. (Case is a Lian Li V2000, had a 2x120 radiator in the middle, barbs pointing up, and another 2x120 on the top, barbs pointing down.)
So my new thoughts have both radiators below the mid-line and the beginning of the loop going:
cpu WB -> rad1 -> gpu WB -> ?
Now, the path would normally be:
gpu WB -> rad2 -> reservoir -> pump
However that would have a couple of lines going against gravity, as well as lines doubling back.
What I was thinking about doing is:
gpu WB -> reservoir -> pump -> rad2 -> cpu WB
My other option is:
gpu WB -> reservoir -> rad2 -> pump -> cpu WB
Which would then have the radiator feeding the pump, which I have read isn't ideal due to the risk of starvation. The pump is a MCP 655.
So the questions are: assume the pump can handle the extra doubling back and do it right? Assume that the pump can handle the heated water from the GPU before it hits a radiator? Assume that once everything is bled properly, the pump won't starve getting its feed from a radiator?
Radiators are swiftech, GPU block is EK, CPU block is DD.
Pertinent system specs:
i7 920 @ 4ghz
GTX 480 @ stock
No plans to upgrade anything anytime soon. Temperatures were fine with the old setup, just too loud for my tastes. Oh, and the Feser Triebwek 120x55 fans have the most annoying droning sound in the world.
