I'm looking for a video card priced around $100. The card I have now is a GeForce FX 5900, so anything priced around $100 would be a step up, right? Two cards I have in mind are the GeForce 8600GT (which is unfortunately out of stock) and the Radeon HD 2600XT. I am open to suggestions.

Thanks,

If you have the 5900, then you have to look at an AGP card, so I would say the 2600XT would be a very good choice.

The 8600 you linked shows up as in stock for me

Thanks for the responses.

I have an Nvidia GeForce PCX 5900 and a 3.0 Ghz Intel P4 530, so I am looking for a PCI express card. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8I915P which has a PCI express slot and an optional AGP slot, but I don't think it would be advantageous to use AGP. I noticed this thread and am considering the 2600XT, especially since it is on sale, although right now it appears to be out of stock. What do you guys think about the 8600GT (in stock)?
