Right now I'm shooting with the Canon EOS Rebel XSi. I have grown to love it. But I am looking into something more highend. I am looking at either the 7D or the 5Dii but not sure which one.

I have been shooting for almost 2 years now and I shoot anything fron landscapes to sports, and everything in between. I am not sure of my price range yet but both seem to fit in it.

My main question is should I go full frame or cropped?

If you are considering going full frame you'll have to consider how many of your 1.6x crop lenses you'll have to replace and if you are ok with that cost.

If you shoot frequently with long telephoto lenses the crop is really nice, and if you go full frame you'd have to get even longer more expensive telephoto lenses - this is one area where crop cameras have the advatage because they give you more reach right away.

Otherwise if you can afford the camera and replacement lenses go full frame. You appear like you want to. Will the 7d satisfy you, or will there always be that full frame itch?

Since i have been shooting crop i don't think i would mind staying with a crop. I only have the kit lens and a 70-300mm that i could easily replace. If i went full frame.
Main thing i want to get at is how much of a difference will the pictures be between a full frame and a crop.
I could always keep my XSi and lense as well and switch it out with the Full frame where needed.

I feel that the 5D Mark II would be a significant upgrade over the XSi. You'll get more megapixels, better viewfinder(pentaprism), larger viewfinder, better screen on the back, better color depth, more dynamic range, 1080P movies etc. To get the same framing on subjects as the XSi, you'll have to get closer to your subject when at the same focal length. Because you'll be closer you'll have a smaller depth of field which will more easily give that blurred background look that many strive for. The camera won't be holding you back!

The 7D would be an upgrade from the XSi in terms of focusing sensors, frames per second, megapixel, dynamic range, 1080p. It wouldn't be an upgrade in terms of noise, maximum good ISO, and viewfinder size.

The quality of your lens and shooting technique will determine the per pixel sharpness of the image files. The 7D and 5D Mark II will capture more details with their higher MP count.

What sort of subjects, and in what locations do you find yourself shooting?

Edit: Looking at http://www.canonrumors.com/ it appears like they have zero information on a new 5D Mark II replacement. I'd seem to think that both Canon and Nikon will release something before the Olympics. Now $1999 body only is a really nice price for a full frame camera, and anything new that comes out in the following year will be significantly more.

Why not just invest in some better glass for now?

What features do the 5D or 7D offer that your XSi isn't doing for you?

I agree, too many people get sucked into the 'body upgrade' thing when what they should really be spending their money on is lenses, which after all, affect the end result more then the body. Its true, if you are running into limitations such as fps or ruggedness of your body then those are compelling reasons to upgrade, but get some good lenses first, you won't regret it.

I love my 5D Mark II over all other crop cameras I have tried/owned/used. For walkaround, to landscapes/cityscapes, portraits, etc I have to go with the 5D Mark II..

I hardly shoot sports, so I cannot comment. But the few sports I have shot (baseball, basketball, soccer) I have not had any issues with focusing or anything....

I normally shooting outside. Landscapes or cityscapes mostly, I also want to get into portraits more. I also shoot a lot in low lighting

Last night I went to a Blackhawk's hockey game and was all the way up top in the stand (not bad seats at all) but to get a quick shutter I had to turn my ISO all the way up and you can see noise in my pictures. The pictures are still good, but i don't want all that noise.

I also like going into the snow and rain to take pictures and the XSi doesn't have sealed body like the 5D does.

I do plan on upgrading my lenses sometime anyway, so that's no problem.

Crop cameras today are very, very capable. I have both a 5d2 and a 60d and both are excellent. I think for most people, crop vs. full-frame is overblown. Some things the full-frame does better, others crop do better. But any modern camera can delvier outstanding images. Once you get to that point, lenses are more important.
