I'm currently running the rig in my sig,and i really want to upgrade, it's been a while and i just dont have much money to spend. For a new gpu and a cpu i'm looking to spend no more than $250 total. Maybe add more ram as well. what should i go with?

What you running for a PSU boss? Hard to help you if we don't know the physical limits of your system. Any info about what games/applications you use would be really helpful also. ;)

Q6600 and 5750 looks like the combo for you budget wise. Not sure how long I'd run that PSU, but that's your call of course.

5750 is a good choice.you can have a look at Sapphire Radeon HD 5750.

The newer processors and video cards use the same or less power then alot of the older stuff. I've got my system running on like a 450 Watt, never have any problems.

save your money instead of buying a new cpu. Just get a videocard when they are on sale. Maybe some more ram but you should have bought that at the end of last year/beginning of this year when they were dirt cheap (Crucial got down to $10 for 4GB)

If you want to save, then vid (4850,4870) and 2GB more RAM will be noticable.

Thats what i was planning on doing.

I think you should save your money instead of buying a $120 used Q6600

maybe put some if it towards a good psu. Check the Hot Deals forum here or at slickdeals. For your current setup, I would just buy a videocard, psu and maybe ram if you can get it at a good price. What resolution are you using?

You can take the videocard (and psu if you get a good one) to your next setup. I wouldn't sink very much into your current one unless the new parts would work well with your next computer.

5770 for 160

2gb memory to add 45

205 and should just be a drop in replacement I would not worry about your CPU Right now, better bang for the buck with the memory and video card. if you look around you can get a decent PSU for around 40 dollars (rare but I have done it, in fact I have a couple of enhance electronic that I keep for parts that I found for that. just keep an eye on the hot deals forums and slickdeals)
