Any info/guides on how I could set this up would help greatly, really don't know much of anything when it comes to doing something like this.

Currently using a hp pavilion f1503 and i'm looking to add a viewsonic vx2025wm most likely if that helps also.

Thanks~

You have to either have a video card with two outputs (DVI and DVI/VGA), or buy another videocard.

yes just plug one to the VGA then plug the other into the DVI.

I've never tried setting up dual monitors before, but is it really that easy?

I have a 9800pro with one DVI and one VGA output...once I plug in the two monitors will windows (XPhome) pretty much take care of the rest? If so, that rocks!

Here's another newb dual monitor question: - what happens with the mouse cursor? do you drag it from one monitor to the other or do you need two seperate mice?

Thanks!

Yep, its that easy :p
You can just drag your mouse over to the other moniter nothing else needed.

Download this program, it good for dual moniter set ups Ultraon

Yes windos takes care of it all. Display properties will show two (or three, or four...) monitors. No, LOL, one mouse, it's just one big desktop.

After you've plugged in both monitors, boot up the computer and right-click on the desktop and click on Properties. Go to the Settings tab, and you should see a box with two monitors (1 and 2). All you have to do is right-click on the second one and check Attach to deskop. You can drag the monitors around according to their placement.

Hope that helps the two of you.

Thanks all...hopefully I'll have multiple desktops on the way soon :)

I'll probably try it at work first then do it again for the house.
