So, I've learned a few things over the years building a comp. Don't compromise on the PSU, don't compromise on the monitor and now don't compromise on the case. Sure, it's pretty quiet, but if I OC and stress test the temps just keep climing.

That being said, I am looking for a case that is both quiet and runs cooler. It doesn't have to be loaded with sound dampening material, since I think you can achieve 95% of that just by using quiet fans and equipment.

Budget is not too much of a concern. I'd like to stay under $300, but that seems easy enough to do. My search keeps leading me back to the Silverstone FT02. Is there anything else comparable to the acoustics plus cooling combination of this case? I want to make sure I'm not missing out on other cases. As a side note, the Thermaltake level 10 GT is out due to personal preference.

I've found a lot that acoustically are similar to the FT02 [R3, P280, 550D, etc] but don't seem to keep up with the cooling. Granted they also cost quite a bit less.

Nope, FT02 is where it's at.

R3 is really nice, and with some extra fans should cool close to how the FT02 does, but over all the FT02 is the best out of box solution.

Yeah, I was thinking about adding some fans to the R3, but quiet ones are going to run me an other $35-40 total for 3 more fans. If you fill up all 7 I feel like I'd be dangerously close to "why not just buy a FT02". On the other hand I kind of prefer the R3 aesthetically to the FT02. I'm not a huge fan of the rounded edges, but it does still look good.

R3 was the only one that's really given me pause so far, but I feel like I could keep a FT02 with me forever.
