I'm interested in getting a 3 monitor Eyefinity set up and have 2 options I can go with so far
I will be using a 6870 and possible upgrade to a 6950 (unlocked + flashed)

First Option: 3 X Dell E2010H 20" LCD's On Craigslist for $100 each or 275 for all 3 brand new in box

Second Option: 3 X Acer X223WDbd from Newegg (I will only need to purchase 2, I already have one of these monitors)

Which of these set ups would be better? Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Dave

Disregarding monitor quality and just looking at pixels I'd go with the 16:10 Acers. Works better in both landscape and portrait Eyefinity and you already own one of them. I'm running 3x 4:3 monitors and it's plenty wide but would go with 16:10s if I ever upgrade.

I'm running a 6950 2GB and the performance is "satisfying" for now but if I upgrade anything it'd be a 2nd 6950 or a 6990 depending on performance and price. That's with 1600x1200 panels which is slightly more than on those 1680*1050s. So be prepared to want a new card. Some would recommend at least the 2GB for eyefinity.

Thanks for the info. I plan on getting the 2gb 6950 with my taxes and will probally just end up getting the 2 Acer monitors as well. My current Acer monitors has been doing me well.

Can any one offer any insight to either a 3 arm monitor support or maybe 3 single arms?

I was thinking of maybe trying this http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082808&p_id=7565&seq=1&format=2

And placing one monitor in between the arms of the monitor support/arms

or 3 of these lined up http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082808&p_id=7565&seq=1&format=2

It isn't that hard to find monitor mounts that will support up to 3 16:10 24" monitors in a row.

As for the monitors, stick with the Acers.
