Well my old P4 willy is kinda showing its age and i know there not the best processors in the world. So what im looking at so far is

Processor - P4 2.8 800 fsb
Motherboard - Abit IS7 (is this a good choice i read the [H] review and it seems to preform aswell as the IC7)
Ram - Dunno what ram i should buy because i would like the 2.8 to hit atleast 3.0 im guessing 3200 will do me good. Right now I have old PC1066.

Any help would be appreciated and suggestions aswell im trying to keep these three at 500 or less.

I would get some PC3500 or some PC4000 if you intend to overclock. But 3.0 out of a 2.8 shouldn't be tough to acheive out of good quality PC3200 ram.

As far as the motherboard goes alot of people here on the [H]ardforums use it. I however have always had very bad luck with Abit boards. Personally I would choose the Asus P4P800 deluxe or non-deluxe depending on what your budget is.

How does the P4800 deluxe board that you metioned compare in overclock capability? I was thinking of the MSI Neo880 until i read the Hardocp review about its poor overclocking potential. Also the active cooling on the Northbridge and it causing less ubstuction with the zalman HSF im thinking to buying is what lead me to the IS7. Like you said about abit i have never used any other board but asus since building my first P2 system i just didnt like there passive heatsink.

Also for the ram which of these 2 would you recommend, after reading the theard above about ram incompatibilities Geil seems to come out the best.
