I recently bought this exact monitor for a client:

It's an analog input monitor...but I was simply astonished by the quality. The screen was very clear, and the resolution seemed to be nice. I decided that I wanted one for myself. Sooo, after some research, came up with this:

I currently have a 22" CRT, so this would be a tiny downgrade in size. However, my CRT is starting to show signs of its age. It flickers like mad in the top right corner unless I set the refresh rate to 100+, which is impossible unless the resolution is at 800x600 or lower.

I only have about $250 to spend on a monitor, so is what I chose good? Shall I order?

It'll be a huge downsize. The height of 19" Widescreen LCD is only about as high as a 15" LCD. So, your're looking somewhere at something like a 16"-17" CRT height. Really a big downsize from a 22" CRT.

For a widescreen monitor, get 20.1" or higher or don't get one as far as i'm concerned. I looked at some 19" WS in our local store and (i have a 19" LCD non WS at home) was shocked how much smaller it was.

It's really fine, the size I mean.

I used one for one of my clients and I'm absolutely fine with the size. I'm ready to downgrade in size, as this CRT is too big anyway (I sit a foot away from it!)

In terms of quality though...will that monitor be proper for gaming? I've always used CRTs, and just recently starting using LCDs for other people's computer builds...I think I want to make the switch myself.
