I am looking to build a pc (no idea what I'm doing) or just buying a decent laptop my budget is 1500 CAD thats including taxes and shipping. I have found a few laptops that seem pretty good on newegg.ca and tigerdirect.ca I will be playing Wow/starcraft/diablo 3 the most.

Those are are the ones that have caught my eyes. Thanks for any help if you need anything else just ask and I will tell.

Answer the questions in the sticky first, and then we would be glad to help you. It's not hard to build a computer and this is the place you want to be to ask questions.

Thought I answered most of them I think I would rather a laptop since I would be lanning a lot with friends.

What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? Gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? 1500 taxes and shipping included
3) Where do you live? Canada, Ontario
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Everything including a monitor but I know what one I want
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model. None
6) Will you be overclocking? If I dont have to
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? 27"
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? next few months

You could build a smaller desktop that would be easily transported between lans and home (as long as you arent a wimpy girl who can lift more than 30 lbs :p ). With $1500 you could build a formidable gaming computer. Would you be willing or are you 100% set on a laptop?

Im willing I don't care how big the tower is just thought that if I had a laptop would save me 400 on a monitor :). See I have no idea what I would need for making a pc that's why I came here I was going to get the laptop just cause its easyer and I wouldn't be missing anything to make it. But if you can make an amazing build for 1500CAD that would be great :)

Edit* Should I get a monitor or would I be ok with using my tv? its a 40" but it has inputs for a pc.

What TV do you have? Which inputs? HDMI, DVI, VGA, etc?

Which monitor were you planning on getting?

If it is only 720p you will probably want something with much better resolution for gaming. You still have a budget for a nice monitor plus a pretty nice gaming setup. You do need peripherals right? Mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc?

I have a mouse and keyboard I have a headset I will be using for sound so I don't need a sound card right away I think I have a dvd rom and burner they are older but they work ones a lg and other is a sony dvd burner. I would be getting a monitor down the road I was just thinking that I could use the tv for a few months then get one that was the idea. I don't have a computer anymore I use my parents so I can just use there monitor for now aswell so there is no big rush for the monitor.

Edit* I also want to be able to upgrade the next year so I don't wanna be limited

What size monitor do your parents have? How long is a "few months"?

With what you mentioned what else would I need like cables and heatsinks/fans?

If you're not overclocking, no need for a 3rd party HSF. The case comes with enough fans. Most of the cables you need comes with the motherboard.

Alright thanks didn't know, thought I might of had to buy cables since it doesnt say on the site that the motherboard comes with cables.

Everything you need comes with the motherboard pretty much (sata cables is the main solo cable, everything else is attached to the psu or case). Look into some guides on putting the computer together, its quite simple. Ask any questions you have here, you will get a million answers.
