looking for widescreen info

I bought on of those westinghouse 32" widescreen LCDs fron best buy on friday, and i cannot seem to get my widescreen movies to fill the screen. they either have a border all the way around or i get the same thing as normal, the top and bottom cut off. can i get some links to widescreen information sites, so that i can learn what i need to know in order to use this thing properly. thanks! :D
 
Which movies are you watching?

The 16:9 ratio is not standard for all movies. For example, the LotR movies are, IIRC, 2.35:1 ratio, so you're still going to get bars top and bottom.
