Hey [H],

I've been tasked by the company I work for find a new virtual PBX system to use for our at home call center agents.

We're currently using this phone: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833150069

Features we need:

Phone Greetings
Auto Attendant
Hold Music
Conference Calling
IVR Options
Call Tree
Caller ID
Call Screening
Recording Greetings for each agent
Call Recording /w screen capture if possible
Call Queuing
Call Transfer
Real-Time current usage and call history
Administration Panel for supervisors to monitor agents call metrics/stats/reporting

We are currently looking at http://www.asterisk.org/ and http://www.virtualpbx.com

This is my first time exploring any of these options/systems. . .We're pretty much doing this from scratch and no one knows how to do it. We just know what we want/need, any suggestions?

Thanks!

What are you guys using now, and how much are you willing to spend?

Look at Fonality PBExtra, kick ass little system they have. the compatible phones are on their site

I have no idea what we're using now. It's all handled by the company that runs our call center. We're breaking away and going for an @ home setup.

However, Fonality PBExtra sounds PERFECT!

I'm always a fan of keeping things unified....especially if they can host this for me, haha. Thanks!!!!

How many phones are you going to have? if its over 10 you will want to look into they hybrib hosted/premisis solution

We'll have a max of 7 phones.

Fonality is basically, Asterisk on a Dell server. We can do the same for $200 with no monthly fees, but not sure if it'd work as well!

Why don't you take a look at SipX. It's the largest competitor to an Asterisk based system, it's totally free, and it does a great deal more out of the box than what Asterisk does. We're currently about to implement it across multiple sites in our company and I've been quite pleased with it. Fonality was way too much money for some simple features, plus they wanted $800 per server to cross connect with others. We chose SipX instead.

From what I've read, Amazon.com uses the largest installed base of SipX out there.

Go for a hosted PBX solution, it may cost more money but will be less of a headache than setting up an on premise one, especially if you want to have remote agents taking calls outside of your main site.

Uhh, i have delt with three hosted VOIP carriers, they all suck balls, its just not a 100% or even 85% solution

We're most likely going to go for free/near free on premise solution. We're moving the call center to @ home to cut costs and save $$$.

So far, I am really looking into SipX....but the ease of use/simplicity that Fonality can offer seems worth the price tag!

I would take a look at dell's fonality offering. the big thing with buying it from dell is that support is included...forever. no renewing each year.

I can put you in contact with a dell rep also that knows about the system.
