Right now I have a MS Optical Wireless mouse, and its good i guess, but every once in a while, the mouse jumpes to a corner of the screen, and in games, it means i look straight up and spin in circles (the humiliation thats caused me in ut2k4.....)

so now im looking for a great mouse, and a great pad to go under it, id like to keep the total price under $50, and wireless is a plus! but not nessecary :) thanks

I have the mx700 which is the wireless version of the mx510 and it is a DREAM

wireless is a plus!

So which is it? The best on, one on a budget, or something wireless? Pick two of these at most, not all 3.

Best-wireless
Best-budget
Budget-wireless
Not Best-budget-wireless. Hell best and budget don't even go togther.

If you don't know what your looking for how do you expect us to?

The MX510 would probably be the closest, but your going to be useing a table for a mouse pad...

I have the MX510 and funcpad gaming mouse and together they are awsome for gaming.

mx700 is an awesome mouse i have one combined with a func 1030 mousepad but you sir are wrong its a wireless version of the mx500 which is not as good as the 510 making the 510 right now top :)

My vote goes for the Intellimouse 4.0 and the ratpadz gaming mousepad. Killer setup for CS

Wrong!

mx510 has a cooler paint job, and it has a higher capture rate or whatever -- 5.8 megapixels compared to the mx700's 4.7.

Just a clarification

Edit: whatever The In Kid said ;)

i think ill go wiht the mx700, while the mx510 does look snazzy, i like to have a clean desk (i.e., no cords on it), plus, i do other things besides gaming, think i can grab one off ebay for $40 or so

For [H]ardcore gaming, I'd recommend the MX510.

The MX700 is also very good. I think it's the best wireless mouse for gaming. Still not as good as the MX510 spec wise. Both will still be a good mouse to have for gaming.

For the mouse, I would go with the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 or 4.0 or the MX510 (I personally prefer the 3.0). Given your budget, your mousepad should unquestionably be a fUnc pad: they're simply the best mousepad you can get for under $20. If you want to spend more, I highly recommend the SteelPad. I honestly wouldn't consider wireless, even the MX710. I used it for a long time and although I really enjoyed it once I switched to the IE3.0 I wondered how I used the heavy, clumsy 710 for so long.
