I'm generally new to amateur photography in a sense that I've never picked up a book or took any courses in school on the subject, but am familiar with how cameras work and can come up with a couple decent shots once in a while. What I'm looking for is a quick guide (read: cliff's notes) on how to take pictures and I need to learn it all by friday.
I want to take a bunch of b/w portrait photos of a person in a gothic/gloomy setting. So i'm looking for advice on how to add that feeling of doom to my photos by either positioning the camera or the person in some way...
