I'm currently working on a sever case that will include a speaker control console right in the box (from my Logitech Z-560). It's a medium sized ammo box - yes yes it's been overdone but mine is very unique :). Every part (including wheels, handles, grates, buttons, keyswitches etc..) were salvaged from abandoned junk yards/factories. So as you can imagine adding shiny plastic knobs on the top of it would look out of place to say the least.

I'm at school right now, no places to find such things - I need one knob for the volume and one for bass control (slightly smaller than volume). Pretty much all the mechanisms on this case look old as they have been used for various purposes and contain a bit of rust..so they have to be used.

Can anyone offer any insight? Checked ebay..perhaps I'm not searching for the right thing. Help greatly appreciated :)

Just get something like this off ebay..

Its a whole assortment of knobs. There are tons of different style knobs in all sizes. Then, if you wanted to give it a rough look, throw it on the ground a few times, put it in a moist zip lock bag with some iron nails, etc. Maybe start out with a newer knob that you know fits perfect, then add some rust and grease embedded into it. lol.

Dust off your dumpster diving coveralls?

Or hit up your local Goodwill and thrift stores, and yard/garage sales.

i'd prefer to not buy pounds of knobs unless i was sure there were some that would suit contained in it. The latter suggestion is my 'plan B'...hopefully i'll be able to find what i'm looking for so i won't have to resort to that.
