We're looking for a few new moderators for FS/T. Here are our starting criteria:

- at least one year as a member
- 1000 posts minimum
- you must be active in more than just FS/T
- you can't have any "black marks" on your record (infractions or user notes about past problems)
- you must be at least 21 (Sorry, but sometimes mods have to clean up inappropriate posts and we don't want anyone's mommy complaining that [H] exposed their baby to porn or such.)

If you meet the above criteria and would like to throw your hat into the ring, post your intent here and send me a PM with the following information:

- real name
- age
- location
- occupation
- brief bio (just a paragraph or so about yourself, not looking for a resume)
- any other forum affiliations where you are a mod/admin (This does not necessarily preclude being a mod at [H], but we do expect full disclosure.)

This info will not be posted in public and will be made available only to the mods/admins to aid in the selection process.

Good luck!

If you have ever received a warning PM from a moderator or admin, or if you have ever been banned; odds are very good that you have a black mark.

Damn black marks get me every time..

a few moments of insanity, and I'm disqualified for life:mad:

Well won't hurt to try. I am always browsing through hardforum.

I was wondering what the "job" requirements were? ...just curious. Thanks.

Discrimination! :p j/k

What kind of time commitments are there? Do you schedule in the various mods, or is it "have free time - moderate"?

Damn, I wish I had 1000 Posts, I've got all the other stuff, maybe I should have posted more stuff in the past few years. :-(

Awh man, I don't qualify. Not 21 and I'm 92 posts away from 1000 :(

Good luck everyone :)

There's no schedule. Mostly we're looking for people who'd be here anyway checking out FS/T threads. It's just that a mod can take immediate action on thread craps, early bumps, multiple threads, title shouting, hotlinking, etc. as they come across them.

If you spend a hour a day here, you probably come across multiple rules violations.

Mods also receive an email every time a post is reported. The members here are invaluable in helping out in that regard. :)

I still haven't gotten a rejection letter so can I assume I still have a shot?

You may not receive an immediate response. The plan is to leave this up for a few days., then the admins/mods will then discuss and consider the party that has expressed their interest. Good luck!

Consider this an invitation to hand in your 'resume' and the next step would be an interview. It's a drill down exercise to find several of what we consider to be the best candidates for the position...the process usually takes a week or more to complete after we get a roster of potential candidates.

Do infractions ever go away?

Or do they remain "expired" on profile forever, like a black eye that will never heal?

-------

I would have volunteered if it were not for those two "wrist slaps" on my public record.
(btw, I have over 10 years of forum administration and moderation experience)

I'd like to think that someday I might be eligible.

:)

I think everyone who feels they are qualified to be a FS/T moderator should submit their names. Many infractions are years old and will be given due consideration.

Does the FS/T mod position give the mod free access to General Chat?

If a moderator isn't already a subscriber, then yes, they'll receive genmay access at no cost.

Just curious, when is the decision going to be made?

Thanks, everyone. We've got a ton of applicants, so I'm going to shut this down.
