I am building a high end setup for my father who does play vidoe games and what not, but the point of this is to give him a computer that will be able to run the most demanding apps for the next few years. He doesnt need FarCry or HL2/Doom3 or anything. Nor does he do 3dsMax renderings or video editing. Just a fast computer for doing his daily work and recreation. the setup is as follows...

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 - 2.40GHz Processor ($169.00)

get a athlonxp 2500+ or something an nf7-s and save your yourself 190 bucks then switch to TT Silent Boost, for quiteness if not get an slk900 and another 80mm fan for cooling rather then silence. what psu are you getting i recommend an antec true380 or sparkle or something those generic cases don't have good psu's.

I agree with the man. If you want to shave some cash off, this would be a good way to do it without sacrificing performance.

On a sidenote, I can't wait to pass down this GF3 on my system... I'm amazed it's all I've needed so far, though. Will definitely be getting rid of it for HL2/D3.
