Looking for home security recommendations...

Hi,

I live in an appartment and interested in placing some sort of security DIY kit in service that includes video monitoring and motion sensor with smartphone app. Found a couple interesting devices that are not available for purchase as of yet called the Piper and the Canary. Anyone know if there are any other alternatives for purchase?

Iris Security (sold by Lowes) has door sensors, motion sensors, cameras, and has a smartphone app. I wouldnt by any means say that its a perfect alternative, but it is an option.
 
That kit has too many spare parts for my tastes. Be great if Hardocp reviewed the piper or the canary.

Found this one. Has motion sensor.
