Looking for help with 6950 unlock + voltage control

I've been scouring the net trying to figure this out. So here is what I have.
2 XFX Reference 6950 2gb Cards with unlocked shaders. I did the bios mod to only unlock the shaders not overclock to 6970 specs.

Cards perfectly unlock they have 0 artifacting and are able to overclock @ stock voltage of 1100mv to 950/1430. Cooling is not an issue, they never get above 65c when using multi gpu furmark. What I'm wanting is to stabilize them @ 1000/1450 if possible. Which I believe is completely possible with a little voltage bump. However, after reading many many forum pages non of the utilities (i.e. MSi A/B, Trixx, Asus SD) will allow voltage control on a modded 6950. You can move the slider all you want and click apply but nothing actually happens. I've used the Latest version of A/B with the additional Voltunlock feature, the modded config file, and yet I yield the same result.

So where I am is a territory unknown to me, I'm not a software guy, I dont know binary and I dont program. I tried making a modded bios in RBE 1.2.7 with a Vid3 of 1.225 and when windows loads it just locks up.

Is there something I'm missing? Is someone here able to help me achieve this minor feat?

I used the tutorial on overclockers. It bumped the gpu voltage to 1.17v and the asus utility gives me the higher overclock settings. I didn't overclock the memory at all though.

Starting to think it's the xfx versions themselves found a bios that set it 1225mv and even displayed so in windows but under gpuz the sensor reads 1.1 under load 1 at idle

I would also Like to note that the ASUS utility has a fan setting control that is top notch. Way better than the AMD version of let it roast and never turn the fan up.
This is me running Furmark..
60c-25%Fan
65c-25%Fan :(
75c-30%Fan
81c-35%Fan

The ASUS utility really makes the fan ramp up in speed properly and you can set a custom curve that is effective. My card never goes over 60c now. It's quiet as a mouse when not doing anything.

You can do this (fan curve) with MSI Afterburner as well.

I'm pretty sure GPU-Z will not display a voltage above 1.1 for an unlocked card (at least it does not for me). I use Afterburner v2.1.0 to set and monitor the voltage levels and it works fine for me.

I think the overclocking tools don't work as well with crossfire setups.

Define 'roast'. I will not accept anything below 95C, as that is within specification tolerance for a synthetic stress-test utility.

You could run your card that hot if you wish. I, for one, don't like to see the confetti that comes out of those caps when they are near that kind of heat for a few months.:p
