I have a P4 2.8C which I'd like to O'C to 3.2 - 3.6 (if possible) with air cooling. I was looking HERE to see what was on the market. My friend has the Zalman CNPS7000A on his 2.4 C which is running at 3.0, and it's very quiet (quieter than stock). I'm planning on getting that one, but I did see THIS, (there's another thread about it right now).

I'm going to check some reviews on the gold plated one, but in the mean time, what's the best P4 cooler that is about as quiet as the stock HSF?

What are the thermoelectric coolers?

[[[Edit]]] :( There's a thread just like this that I just found, but hopefully some of you can answer my questions on the thermoelectric/gold plated stuff.

i would like to know how the Zalman cools under OC's conditions...my 2.8 will go 3.5 easy but i want to make sure it stays cool...

that deep impact thing....its a big beast and heavy from what i know...plus it attaches to the ZIF...i wouldnt want anything that heavy on the ZIF

it seems like everyone recommends the Zalman. The lowest i've seen it is $33...

they al will only give you an extra 2 or 3 degrees and the fact that the zalman alcu is much lighter.

Well, the weight is much greater with the pure copper one.

So I'm guessing that this will stress the P4 because it's heavier..?

300g heavier? Are you sure that's right? That would mean the thing weighs at least 600g + the al + the fan.

Would I be better off getting the CU or CUAL?

How will it stresses the cpu when mobo is horizontal when u operate it......its not like you have a shuttle that lays flat on the floor.........You should be thinking how well it stresses out the P4 retention bracket or your mobo........

henessey........its still a proven fact......
