Looking for Good Webcam setup

Hey everyone,
I've googled about a bit but can't find recommendations specifically for my purpose. I'd rather rely on experience than hoping that I'm prioritizing the right things from the scarce reviews I'm finding.

Anyone know what Kyle uses in his videos? What mic/cam?

I would like a webcam or digital video recorder and/or audio recorder that is good for:
  • Video Blogging.
  • Web chatting with my familly.
  • Doing DIY videos detailing specific parts of a robotics kit I'm playing with and showing my Computer Case (reasonable resolution for good detail)
  • Pretty good framerate (I don't like slideshow stuff, I want perfectly smooth video)
  • Reasonably clear audio. Whether it's a separate mic or built in.

Feel free to give me pricey-but-not-rediculous suggestions and recommendations. I have no clue what is considered respectable resolution now-adays for showing detail of whatever you are working on so feel free to give opinion on minumum resolution requirements.

I would like comparable quality sound and video to those posted by HardOCP.

Any advice on a good video blogging setup would be nice also.

I'm thinking of doing a website for my video blog and using youtube to host the videos while embedding the video in my blog.

Have it all ye OCPers.

Last post as I don't want to bump the thread needlessly if it's not capturing mindshare...but:

I expected at least somne responses from people who had webcam setups etc.

Did I do something wrong ettiquete wise? Did I ask a stupid question? Let me know if I did something wrong:).

I'd recommend a higher end camera, something that does at least 720p 30fps. If you want to make extra high quality videos for web blogging you might even look into a true HD camcorder and then encode from there. I really like the look (and specs) of the Microsoft HD LifeCam but honestly have no experience with them.

Other than those couple tips, I don't have much other advice. My HP webcam is pretty crappy :)
