I am looking for racing games on the pc that aresomewhat like Gran Turismo 4 for the ps2. I tried alot of the NFS series games and I dislike night driving. Anything out there that is decent and made within the last 2 years?

G.T.R. 2 is probably the only one you may be satisified with.

Need For Speed Most Wanted is a daytime racer (and a hell of a lot of fun).

There are some good games out there. If you want similar to GT4, you may want to look into GTR, GTR2, GT Legends, liveforspeed, rfactor, RACE, and TOCA3 (starforce one this one if you care). Out of the current NFS games, Most Wanted is the best one. You can actually race in daylight like previously mentioned. If you just want some arcade racing fun, I'd highly recommend Flatout 2 and Trackmania Sunrise (another starforce game here). If I think of anything more worth noting I'll add them.

Thank you for the replies. I am to download the demo for NSFMW if there is one. I am anti starforce so that leaves out a few games for me. I did find a few open source racing games that are decent. One is called Racer and the other is called TORCS incase anyone wants to try them out.

Yeah, Need for Speed Most Wanted is a throwback to the older NFS games that aren't based on Fast and the Furious style visuals. It's probably the best game in that series from the last 5 years. One funny thing is that you mentioned you hate night driving. For some reason Most Wanted is always set in late afternoon instead :p
You'd think they could go back to the older games like High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed where the time of day was different for every race!
