looking for external hard drive

[Max-Powers]

I am looking for a good external hard drive with about 320gig less than $150 that can power itself with just the USB. I know nothing about hard drives and there are so many out there so I am just asking for some help

not going to happen.
Hard drives powered by the USB bus are essentially laptop drives.

I'd recommend the Western Digital Passport line, I think they come as big as 250, but not for $150.

so what is a good "laptop" hard drive? what are the largest sizes they come in?

300 i think, but you cant power that over a usb bus. the largest USB powered ones i know that use a single cable are 250 gigs. and even then, sometimes you have to use a 2nd plug to draw extra current from a second USB port, depending on your laptop.
