looking for disk cloning software

I just purchased 2 WD black 640s and need a program to mirror the OS from my current drive to the new one. What is the crowd favorite?

If all you want to do is to clone a drive, you can use the free GParted live CD.

Use an iso burner to burn the iso image of GPartd to a CD. Boot to it.
Copy the source partitions from the source drive and paste to the destination drive.

I would suggest Clonezilla then use GParted to resize the remaining unallocated space.

i think you can try acronis for ten days........if you just need to do one project which it sounds like you do.

I amateur when it comes to cloning but I have Hirens Boot Cd and used Acronis.

Have tried Norton Ghost 3 times but failure ensued.

First time with Acronis was easy and successful.

Totally worth the coin to buy the stand alone program I think

To add to "free"...most drive manufacturers have software you can download from their site (and it usually comes in the Retail box of the drive..not the OEM box)...which allow you to clone if you use their drives.

Western Digital has one called Lifeguard

Just wanted to give a quick update and +1 to Arcronis. Cloning my new hard drive was very easy and painless with this software. It even automatically adjusted the partition on my new drive for the extra space.
