I'm currently using dreamhost, its cheap and it provides me with a lot of server space/bandwidth, mySQL, a free domain name for around $50 a year. However, dreamhst sucks with communication, upload speeds when I am out of the US really really sucks (I travel a lot), sometimes its not really reliable. Worse of all the cpanel really really realllllyyyy sucks...

Is there any other webhost out there that can best dreamhost for a max budget $50?

Thanks,
John

I use cirtex hosting but I think it might be a little over your budget.

Its good though

You really should browse the thread I linked to. It's full of suggestions and feedback about hosts.

I used 1and1's "Home" package on a linux machine. I pay about $60/year and it comes with 2 domain names, and the rest of the numbers are great. Lots of space, lots of bandwidth, and other goodies. I've had them for about 4 years now and have only had 2 issues, and both were my mistake.

Well, finally got rid of DH and went with hostgator, so far its fast fast fast. Thats in regards to the authorization process and upload/download speed from the site. At first I was accessing the cpanel directly and not by ftp that was slow, but after I got my ftp info it was blazing. No need to constantly refresh a page after upload to see if it actually uploaded now yay! I'm happy.
